FAQ's

What is 2 Tone Puff?

2 Tone Puff is a special puff printing effect that gives your design a raised, three-dimensional texture with a distinctive two-tone look. It combines the classic puff technique—where ink expands and creates a raised finish with contrasting colour layers so that the inner tone shows under the top colour when heat-activated. This makes the design pop visually and tactilely on garments.

Is 2 Tone Puff durable?

Yes , the puff effect is durable and long-lasting when done correctly. The raised ink is heat-cured so it adheres firmly to the fabric and resists cracking and flaking through regular wear and washing, similar to traditional puff printing durability.

Which fabrics are suitable for 2 Tone Puff?

2 Tone Puff works best on cotton for strong puff activation and durability, cotton-poly blends for balanced softness and strength, and polyester when applied with careful heat control.

What types of designs work best for 2 Tone Puff?

This raised effect shines best with bold, simple designs such as thick text, strong letterforms, large solid shapes, block graphics, and logos or symbols with solid fills. Since the puff process causes the ink to expand when heated, very fine details, thin lines, and small text may blur or lose definition, making them less suitable for puff printing.

What are the limitations of 2 Tone Puff?

2 Tone Puff printing has limitations, including reduced clarity in fine details due to ink expansion, slight colour variations compared to flat prints, higher production precision requirements, and a bulkier feel on lightweight fabrics.
